The new Smart 3D unit uses Radar technology and can be retro-fitted to 2D & 3D Panachrome PLUS edges & controllers. The unit uses the latest Radar technology and will filter out static objects and passing traffic. Therefore, it will stop the overly sensitive triggering of the doors which could occur with the previous 3D edges when objects were often picked up in the ‘detection zone’. As a result, also the new SMART 3D detector will work with shiny floors and people wearing matt black clothing as it is not using infra-red technology.
