Introduction
- VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a voice call technology that works only in a 4G networks.
- The data voice is transmitted through data network (not GSM as 2G/3G).
- To use VoLTE the SIM provider must be enable this service.
- VoLTE calls are charged as voice calls, not data.
- The devices that don’t have VoLTE service (due to coverage / SIM authorization / Other problems) will use fallback to 2G/3G for voice through GSM and return to 4G for GPRS data.
- The APN and its authentication settings must be configured correctly.
- Roaming or international SIM's will likely not have access to VoLTE. Please check the availability with your SIM provider.
Configure the DCP for VoLTE calls
- Set the APN with P060.
- Set your USER if is required with P061.
- Set your PASS if is required with P062.
These parameters are provided by the mobile network operator of your SIM card.
How to check if it works correctly
- Configure the DCP to 4G only GSM mode using the SMS command: Pin1234,P094N281. This command forces the DCP to only use the 4G network. Try to send and receive a call. If doesn’t work revise the configuration and mobile services.
- After this configure P094 with P094N251 for return to automatic mode (is the default mode with 2G/3G/4G).
- Only do this if you have your DCP in front you because if your zone/MNO don’t have 4G is possible lost the connection. The version 1.60L will have an improvement for this.
